Back, Neck, Shoulders & Back of Legs (40 min) £35
Full Body Massage (60 min) £45

Swedish massage therapy is the best-known type of bodywork performed today utilising techniques to relax the entire body. This is accomplished by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. Swedish massage is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.

Deep Tissue Massage

Back, Neck & Shoulders (30 min) £25
Back, Neck, Shoulders & Back of Legs (40 min) £35
Full Body Massage (60 min) £45

Deep tissue massage therapy is similar to Swedish massage, but the deeper pressure is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints). Deep tissue massage is beneficial for treating all kinds of chronic pain and muscular tension, such as pain and tension commonly experienced in the upper back and neck. These symptoms can be a result of global dysfunction such as poor posture, elevated levels of stress, or poor respiratory patterns. However, deep tissue massage can help locally at the site of pain by reducing fibrous adhesion’s and scar tissue.

Aromatherapy Massage

Back & Neck Massage (30 min) £25
Back, Neck, Shoulders & Back of Legs (40 min) £35
Full body (60 min) £45

In an aromatherapy massage, the massage oil used for the massage also contains an essential oil (or a blend of essential oils) derived from plants. Essential oils can penetrate the body through the skin and have multiple benefits beyond a nice smell. They affect your mood, alleviate pain, help the body detoxify, and a variety of other effects, depending on the essential oil. You can choose something that is relaxing, balancing, or invigorating, based on how you want to feel when the massage is finished. The essential oils used at Beaumaris are therapeutic grade essential oils that have met a high industry standard.

Indian head massage has become a popular component of combined treatments including massage and facials.

Sports Massage

30 min £25
45 min £35

Sports Massage is a treatment that has been developed for those involved in sporting activity to assist in the recovery from injury, to help prevent injuries from occurring initially and to increase performance. The use of regular Sports Massage has increased massively within amateur sport over the past decade after being used in professional sport for many decades helping full time athletes through their tough training regimes. Sports massage works deep into the muscles, realigning the muscle fibres and the connective tissue. Regular sessions will help increase joint mobility and flexibility, and help to reduce the risk of injury before,  during and after exercise.

Pregnancy / Pre-Natal Massage

60 min Massage £42

Prenatal – Pregnancy – massage is a type of massage that is similar to regular massage – it aims to relax tense muscles, ease sore spots, improve circulation and mobility, and just makes you feel good. Prenatal massage is customized to the needs of pregnant women and their changing bodies and needs. Massage relieves many of the normal discomforts experienced during pregnancy, such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches and oedema (or swelling). In addition, massage for pregnant women reduces stress on weight-bearing joints, encourages blood and lymph circulation, helps to relax nervous tension — which aids in better sleep — and can help relieve depression or anxiety caused by hormonal changes.

Reflexology

45 min Massage £35

Reflexology involves a method of treatment using massage to reflex areas found in the feet and the hands. However, it is usually the feet that are addressed as part of a reflexology session. In the feet, there are reflex areas corresponding to all the parts of the body and these areas are arranged in such a way as to form a map of the body in the feet. By having the whole body represented in the feet, the method offers a means of treating the whole body and of treating the body as a whole. Reflexology involves the manipulation of small reflex points based on the feet which are believed to relate to the organs and parts of the human body. By working on these reflex points we can help to stimulate the nerve and blood supply helping to clear toxins and congestion that may have built up creating imbalances and disease.

Shiatsu Massage

Full Body (60 min) £42

Shiatsu was developed in Japan and sits under the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) umbrella. While Shiatsu does come from TCM, it also contains influences from more western therapies. Shiatsu works with the body’s vital energy, known as qi (pronounced chee). In TCM, it is believed that when this energy becomes blocked or stagnant, it causes illness. Shiatsu aims to unblock any stuck energy by using a combination of pressure and passive stretching to help to stimulate the energy channels (known as the meridians). In turn, this is thought to help the body heal itself and produce a state of wellness within the client. Shiatsu is performed whilst the client is fully clothed in lose clothing – shorts or sweatpants and a tee-shirt are recommended – and can either be performed on the massage table or on a mat on the floor.
